Learn what you need to know to get the best tractor seat for your purpose.

Tractors Seats

By Dick Atkinson

If you have spent any time using an agricultural or industrial track. You know the importance of a good quality tractor seat. Tractor seats have evolved tremendously over the last few decades even the early steel seats with holes in them were relatively comfortable since they were situated on either coil springs or leaf spring to absorb some of the shock. Now days though tractor seats are very high tech.

There are basic tractor seats that are rigid and simply have some foam with vinyl over it, all the way up to air ride high-tech memory foam seats. The choice you make in a tractor seat depends much on what you want how much time you spend in that seat, your physical limitations and of course the amount of money that you wish to spend.

It’s really surprising how something that seems as small as a tractor seat could make such a difference in your performance comfort and overall productivity when using your agricultural or industrial tractor, but it’s true. Fortunately most modern tractors come with very comfortable functional and healthy seats, but they do wear out. When the time comes to replace that seat you have the option of simply replacing it with the stock original or finding a seat better suited to you and also that use the tractor is being used for.

Many times when you’re using attractor any to lean over in a particular way that will let her out part of see faster than another part or you want to seek that will conform to your body when you are in such a position. It’s a good idea when looking for your new seat to take that into consideration that some seats come with an option of high-back support and others don’t. Depending on the use of attractor your own limitations physically and any other factors you’ll want to consider whether you would like to have high-back support or not.

Depending on what piece of equipment you are putting this seat in you may need to have a raising armrest in order to easy access or even a swivel seat. All of these options are available in many different seeds.

Unless you wish to have to modify your tractor or the seat to get it to fit you will also want to be careful that the Seat that you choose is one designed for that tractors mounting system. Many are quite standardized now days but you’ll still want to make sure.

All in all a good tractor seat can be something that you either dread or very much appreciate depending on how it serves you. Take your time consider all the options and you will be able to find a very good quality long-lasting and comfortable tractor seat for your equipped

Snow Blower Tips and General Information

By Wes Homan

A snow blower is used to clear snow from a driveway or any other place where a homeowner or businesses wishes to have it remain clear of snow. Snow throwers come in a few different styles. Some use gasoline, some use diesel, and some start by using electricity. Generally, the basic snow clearing machine is capable of removing snow in an area of approximately 20 inches wide.

As with any machine that chops things up, which is what the blades do to get the snow removed, there are safety issues that need to be followed. Also, when filling a diesel or gasoline powered one, it is highly recommended to use a funnel to pour the fuel into this machine, so that none of it will go onto the machine or the ground. Never try to remove snow or frozen matter from the blades on the snow blower. Sometimes, the machine gets jammed and shuts down because of this and people tend to think they can clear it right then. It is highly recommended to shut off any switches and do not use the hands to do the clearing. Also, make sure that the machine is not in gear before trying to clear away jammed snow or ice from the blades, also known as the auger. When we think of auger, we may think of ice fishing. This is the same idea, as an auger can cut through ice, many inches thick, so can it cut through someone’s fingers, within a blink of an eye of time.

There are definitely some cautions to take with having a snow blower, but these machines are a huge asset to homeowners and business owners. People can save hundreds of dollars per year if they can remove snow without paying someone to do this for them, especially those years when it snows 2-3 feet in one storm. Imagine the cost of having someone else clear snow for 2-3 feet of snow, and for multiple storms of this amount of snow.

There are single stage and two-stage snow throwers available for smaller jobs. The most used type is the two-stage, 5 horse power snow machine. Prices usually begin at approximately $500 and can go up to over $1000 for these machines.

Some of the top snow blower brand names are Toro, Yard Machines, and Briggs and Stratton. Most places like Home Depot or Lowes, and even chainsaw shops, sell these machines. Sports shops carry these, as well.

Welcome to our website. Here you will find information about tractor snow blowers and snow blowers in general. There are many different configurations of snow blowers and many different manufacturers as well. We hope that you will enjoy and benefit form your visit.

A tractor snow blower can be a very useful and time saving piece of equipment. There are basically 2 different configurations, a front mount and a rear mount.

Most people who don’t use a tractor snow blower in a full time way will opt for a rear 3 point mount that is drives by a simple power take off. The 3 point mounted snow blower is simple and quick to install, simply back up t the snow blower, connect the 3 point hitch and the power take off and your ready to blow snow. One of the disadvantages to the rear mount tractor snow blower is that you are blowing snow in reverse, thus being just a little bit uncomfortable having to twist in the tractor seat to see where you are going. The other disadvantage that I have heard is that it can be rough on the tractors transmission, since they weren’t designed to operate in reverse a lot. I don’t know if that is a valid point, but it is worth mentioning.

The front mount tractor snow blowers are very nice since you can just drive comfortably forward to blow snow. The problem with some of the front mount models is that they are more complicated all of the way around. Usually they are operated by hydraulics and have a large and complicated mounting mechanism. If you are fortunate enough to have a loader on your tractor then a front mounted snow blower can easily be mounted on your loader in many cases.

I have seen some creative mounts where a person puts a 3 point attachment on the front of a tractor and convert a rear mount power take off drive tractor snow blower to hydraulic drive. This way you can get a little bit of the best of both worlds from front an rear mount snow blowers.

All in all tractor snow blowers a re a rather simple and very useful tool when you get a significant snowfall. I remember when we lived in Minnesota and got a 4 foot snowfall on October 31st several years ago. Getting to the barn or getting the driveway passable even for a 4 wheel drive truck was going to take a fair amount of digging. We had a neighbor with a rear mount tractor snow blower on an international 1066. Without asking or anything in about 10 minutes he blew us a path to the barn and blew out our driveway. It was impressive. That was when I was sold on the advantages of a snow blower over other means of moving snow.

New — Rear Mounted, Forward Drive Snow Blower

Recently there is at least one company, Erskine, that is making a rear mount 3 point mount tractor snow blower that you drive forward through the snow to operate. I included a short video of it’s operation. It looks like it works well. I can see some disadvantages if you are talking about many feet of deep, deep snow, there is the possibility of getting stuck, but with some care this is a great innovation.

I included a Video that I found that shows one in operation. Enjoy.
